- Most unusual.
- Most colourful.
- Best Quality.
- etc.
There were also be events for children.
If you have any suggestions for events or ideas concerning the produce sho, please speak to or contact a member of the committee.
THINKING GREEN: Does anyone know of a source of biodegradable cups to use instead of the the polystyrene ones we're currently using?
Compost: A pallet of multipurpose compost with added John Innes was in the container at the star of May. 60 litres for £2.75 (cost price). First come first serverd.
The compost was very successful. It was sold out by 12th June. The committee are considering purchasing some more.*
WHAT'S IN THE CONTAINER? As well as holding meetings of various kinds. We to opened the container on a regular basis for tea/coffee breaks plus gardening chat or for a browse in the library section which has several complete year's sets of 'Kitchen Garden' magazine plus - starting in May - the latest copies as well because CGAS has taken out a subscription. Also there are some useful gardening books - more about these in the next issue.
The plan to open (the container) on Sunday mornings from 10:00 - 12:00 starting on Sunday May 29th. (the May bank holiday weekend) has worked exceedingly well and will be kept going till the end of October/ Start November.
THE MEMBERS EXCHANGE: Watch out for the barrow set up next to the Container with the sign: Free to members Help Yourself ( or similar). Anyone with surplus plants is welcome to put them (suitably labelled please) on the barrow for fellow CGAS members to have. Of course, any CGAS member can go and see what's there and maybe try growing somenting different for a change!
