Emergency Committee Meeting 17/12/2009.
The meeting made the following observations about
the concept plans as exhibited:
It provided little
housing on the allotments field and did not refer to access up Glebe
Drive. A subsequent telephone call to the Land Agents revealed that the
Glebe land Committee had not relented, despite CGAS strong objections, re.
granting the Developers an access route across the allotments for
emergency vehicles plus pedestrians and cyclists and also for whatever
service pipes etc they might require. This might appear in the current
Planning Application or a future one.
Many visitors to the
exhibition did not appear to understand the implications of the 'plans'
especially in the light of recent experience in proposed developments
elsewhere in the village where the plans as submitted for P. Permission
were different from those exhibited previously.
The status of the
proposed 'community allotments' was unclear.
If the worst happened and the through route became a reality, the meeting agreed
to allow the holders of the worst affected plots - the two immediately inside
the gate - to move plots as soon as suitable ones became available.
The Planning Application is likely to be very soon. In preparation, the
Committee agreed on the following actions:
To pursue the 25 year
lease with the Land Agent in an attempt to provide the allotments with
some more security.
The Chairman has
requested a special Parish Council meeting when the application has been
made. Committee members to contact all CGAS members at that time to
encourage a good attendance.
To bear in mind for the possible benefit of CGAS the use of Section 106 money
available from developments around the village. To circulate all members about
the implications of the current proposals and to inform them about what the
'right of access' means. Download the circular in pdf
format -
To write again to the
Bishop and the Glebe land Committee spelling out the consequences for CGAS
of the decisions they have chosen to make.
To form a Sub-committee for the purpose of conducting campaign business.
